Annie was the child of a one night stand, so it wasn’t much of a shock that she never really knew her father. Her mother was born in Paris, and grew up with a wealthy family. When the women was in her 30s, the mysterious Remy LeBeau walked into the bar. Madeline, or Maddie as she was known was enthralled with him. They drank, they became well friendly and the result was Annie. Annie grew up not knowing of who her father was, she was originally Anouk Dubois. But, when she was fourteen, she did some research and she found out who her father was. She took on his name, she tried to contact him but it was to no avail.

Her mother wasn’t upset with her decision to embrace her father, the Dubois name had never exactly been kind of Annie. But, at the same time Annie had started to obtain a strange ability. It started off with little things, first she could change her hair at will. It would go from shocking shades of orange, to you blue. It would go short, then long. But after a couple years, soon Annie could change her appearance. Of course, she couldn’t hold it for an extreme length of time, soon she would start contorting back to what she was supposed to look like. But for shortish endeavors, she could masquerade as anyone she wished. The skill proved useful, and soon she was up on SHIELDs radar. After all, the child of a LeBeau always seemed to make an entrance. Hers was getting caught trying to steal a heck of a lot of money from a bank in order to donate some to the children's home. In the end, SHIELD took her back. So the rather ordinary french girl with an extraordinary ability found herself on an adventure she hadn’t quite planned for.
