Backstory: Born to a young unmarried couple, Muse was more of a surprise than anything planned. Still, somehow it all worked out in the end, the couple still together now despite all the challenges. One of those challenges was Muse being born deaf. There was no one to blame for that, it was just the hand that life gave her. However, she did have an advantage of growing up deaf, learning sign language and lip reading at an early age and perfecting the technique. Mark was always playing some type of music in the house and at the age of three, he swore she’d move along to the beat despite not hearing it. He was correct, only Rose didn’t believe him for another two years. In fact, Muse had been feeling the vibrations of the music through the ground. In an experiment, Mark tried to teach her the piano at she soon caught on, easily figuring out how to play and what sounded good. Venturing further she started to learn other instruments, picking them up easily. Her favorite quickly became violin. Mark had half hoped she wouldn’t develop powers since he’d been depowered, but at the start of high school she was playing the violin after a fight with her parents and broke all the windows in the house with one sharp note. After that she went to Xavier’s school, learning how to control her powers and then trying to have her own life and even trying to fight crime herself. It wasn’t long after that she was forced to admit that she needed help due to an accident and couldn’t do everything herself, heading to SHIELD facility.

 

Fun facts: 

• Muse prefers to use sign language when communicating but since most people don’t know sign she is also good at reading lips and talking although her words often sound off when she speaks.

• She wears a pair of her dad’s headphones and pretends to listen to music when in crowds/ walking around town so people don’t think she’s intentionally ignoring them if they try to talk to her.

• She’s pretty lively and active, liking to hang around with other people or be doing something at the least.

• Since she can still feel music she can often be found listening to it by turning it up pretty loud and standing barefoot on the ground. She likes all music.

• She tends to carry around her violin wherever she goes and is very protective of it.
